REAL GEOMETRY EDITING
Real Geometry Editing

Kubotek uses the intelligence inherent in geometry to power its Real Geometry Editing. We call it Face Logic technology, a unique foundation for our advanced face selection capabilities. This means we are able to provide smart editing tools that offers a very different approach to creating or changing a model. No history tree is needed to find features and manipulate the model geometry. That concept may be hard to understand at first. Yet, once you explore the real-time recognition of data present in the geometry, using the tools opens up whole new opportunities to reuse existing design assets or prepare for efficient downstream manufacturing.

Real Geometry Editing technology breaks the myth that change is simple when using history structures.  Here’s why.

Users gain the freedom to quickly discover and edit the size and shape of solids without working through the relationships (constraints) and feature history used to originally construct the model.  Unlike explicit modeling techniques of the past, the latest real solid editing technology automates the editing process with intelligent and dynamic assessment of inherent associations between individual geometry components.  That means that when the cursor flies over the geometry it identifies what it sees.  Grab it, change it and go.  What’s the use of capturing those moves in history?  Most companies, especially in manufacturing, have no time for that.

Still can’t follow this breakthrough in editing?  Try this.  Two design engineers with different perspectives on the same part may not be able to see the same basic features in the same way.  Or, what one designer calls two symmetric ribs may look like a boss with a slot to his manufacturing partner.  That where real geometry editing allows each unique user to define features dynamically and temporarily.  These capabilities not only save design time, but more importantly open up possibilities for development of more cost effective solutions.

Let’s not forget how refreshing working with geometry can be when creating designs from scratch.  The ability to quickly develop a concept without worrying how the model will be built, gives Real Geometry Editing an advantage in early phases of design right through the design development process.  Again, change is easy.
